ซิลค์สกรีน / Silkscreen

"ซิลค์สกรีน" เป็นกรรมวิธีการพิมพ์อีกแบบหนึ่งซึ่งต้องอาศัยแม่พิมพ์  แม่พิมพ์ที่ว่าทำมาจากผ้าชนิดพิเศษที่ผลิตมาเพื่องานนี้โดยเฉพาะ  หลักการง่าย ๆ ก็คือปล่อยให้สีทะลุผ่านแม่พิมพ์ลงบนวัสดุที่ต้องการพิมพ์  สีที่ใช้พิมพ์มีสองประเภทใหญ่ ๆ คือ สีเชื้อน้ำ หรือละลายในน้ำ  และสีเชื้อน้ำมันหรือละลายด้วยน้ำมัน (solvent)

นอกจากนี้สีทั้งสองชนิดยังแบ่งได้อีกหลายประเภทเพื่อให้เหมาะกับงาน เช่นสีน้ำใช้พิมพ์ผ้า แบ่งออกเป็นสีจม เพื่อพิมพ์ผ้าสีอ่อน  สีลอยสำหรับพิมพ์ผ้าสีเข้ม สียางใช้พิมพ์ผ้าเพื่อให้เกิดความมันเงาของเนื้อสี  ส่วนสีน้ำมันก็เช่นกัน แบ่งออกเป็นหลายชนิดเพื่อการเกาะติดของวัสดุที่ต้องการพิมพ์  เช่น สีพิมพ์สติกเกอร์ สีพิมพ์แผ่นพลาสติกลูกฟูก เป็นต้น

Water-based ink used for Printed a cloth, separated as Plastic ink for a Light-color cloth, Discharge ink for Dark-color cloth and also Oil-based ink could be separated as many kinds for Sticking up with the Materials that needed to print such as Stick-printed color, Corrugated plastic sheet printing-color and so on.
